Market Statistics for Greater Baton Rouge Home Sales

How did land and residential home sales compare in May of this year to last year in Ascension Parish, East Baton Rouge Parish, Livingston Parish, and West Baton Rouge Parish? We are glad you asked!

  • West Baton Rouge Parish had the highest change in average sales price of residential homes as they increased by $24,959 (13% change).
  • While the quantity of residential homes decreased in East Baton Rouge Parish and Livingston Parish, there were 37 more homes sold in Ascension Parish compared to May of last year (24% change).
  • Residential home inventory is up across all four parishes compared to last year. This change is most prevalent in Ascension Parish with 216 more homes for sale (31% change) and Livingston Parish with 207 more homes for sale (25% change) compared to last May.
  • Inventory of land for sale saw an increase in Ascension, East Baton Rouge, and Livingston Parishes, and a decrease in West Baton Rouge Parish.
  • The number of land lots sold increased in Ascension and Livingston Parishes, but decreased in East Baton Rouge and West Baton Rouge Parishes.
  • The average sales price of land increased in Ascension and East Baton Rouge Parish, but decreased in Livingston and West Baton Rouge Parishes.
